This End User License Agreement ("Agreement") is between you ("you" or "User") and Tech Tone ("we," "us," or "Tech Tone") and governs your use of the AI Terminal desktop application ("AI Terminal" or "the Software"). By downloading, installing, or using AI Terminal, you agree to the terms below. If you don't agree, don't download or use the Software.
1. License Grant
Tech Tone grants you a free, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use AI Terminal on devices you own or control, for personal or commercial purposes, at no cost. This license is for use of the Software — it doesn't transfer any ownership of it to you.
2. Ownership
AI Terminal, including its code, design, name, and branding, is and remains the property of Tech Tone. Nothing in this Agreement gives you any rights to our trademarks, logos, or branding except as needed to use the Software normally.
3. What You Can't Do
- Redistribute, resell, sublicense, or rent AI Terminal under your own name or as part of a paid bundle without our written permission.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software, except to the extent applicable law expressly permits despite this restriction.
- Remove or alter any branding, copyright notices, or attribution included with the Software.
- Use AI Terminal to build a directly competing product by extracting or copying its code or design.
4. Third-Party AI Models & Services
AI Terminal lets you connect your own AI model — a local Ollama installation, or an API key for OpenAI, Anthropic, or any custom OpenAI-compatible endpoint. When you do this:
- Your conversations and the relevant context (your OS, shell, working directory, and recent command summary) are sent directly from your device to whichever provider you've configured — not to Tech Tone.
- You're responsible for that provider's own terms of service, pricing, usage limits, and privacy practices. Tech Tone has no control over and no responsibility for the output, availability, cost, or behavior of any third-party AI model.
- AI-generated suggestions — including suggested commands — may be wrong, incomplete, or unsafe. Review anything before you run it.
5. Commands You Choose to Run
AI Terminal can execute shell commands you ask it to run, including ones suggested by an AI model. The Software flags commands it detects as potentially dangerous before running them, but this detection is not exhaustive and must not be relied on as a safety guarantee. You are solely responsible for any command you choose to run, whether typed yourself or suggested by AI. Always read a command before running it, especially anything involving deletion, formatting, network access, or system configuration.
6. No Data Persistence
AI Terminal does not save your chat history, command history, or session layout between launches — everything resets when you close the app. Don't rely on AI Terminal to retain anything you haven't saved elsewhere yourself.
7. Updates
AI Terminal may check for newer versions and let you know when one's available. We're not obligated to provide updates, support, or any particular feature set going forward, and we may change or discontinue the Software at any time.
8. Disclaimer of Warranty
AI Terminal is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the Software will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that any AI-generated output will be accurate or safe.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tech Tone is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages — including data loss, system damage, or lost work — arising from your use of AI Terminal, including from commands you chose to run or AI output you chose to act on.
10. Termination
This license ends automatically if you violate this Agreement. We may also discontinue the Software entirely at our discretion. Either way, you should simply stop using and uninstall AI Terminal.
11. Governing Law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of India, and any disputes will be subject to the courts of Gujarat, India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
12. Changes to This Agreement
We may update this Agreement from time to time. Continuing to use AI Terminal after an update means you accept the revised terms. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when that happens.
